Baseball Cards

Notes

I first started collecting baseball cards as a kid during the late 1980's and still have most of them to this day. But, sadly, due to the massive print runs of this era the market is flooded with them today. That level of production makes it a near certainty that a card from this time period will have no value at all.

it is true that PSA pricing can increase greatly depending on the estimated value of the card while Beckett’s pricing stays more flat. Both companies have their pros and cons but the one thing I can say is that typically, collectors prefer Beckett over PSA only for modern cards while PSA is more popular in the vintage and pre-War markets. But, PSA isn’t bad for modern either. It’s just that Beckett seems to stick out a bit more for modern cards.

Price Guides

  • PSA's guide will only contain information about PSA-graded cards
  • Vintage Card Prices guide may have more recent market-based values to judge your card's price, but is a paid service
  • Beckett - paid service

Grading

  • PSA Economy - $20 (Maximum declared value of $499) EST TURNAROUND: 75 Business Days
  • Becket prices - $12 card (30 days)
