The Watown Project is Pete's project to visit every official town in Washington State. The Watown Project started in 2013 and the goal is to visit every town within the next 3 years. It was completed on June 13th, 2015. (On to The Wacity Project!)
There are exactly 70 "towns" in the state of Washington, and unless current state law is amended, there will never be any more. A "town" is a type of city that had a population of less than 1,500 people at the time of incorporation, with a minimum 300 needed to incorporate. Changes in 1994 now require 1,500 to incorporate at all, and hence no new towns. (MRSC) (Postscript: I am also keeping a city list; at last count there were 212 of those in Washington.)
